Cranio-Sacral Certification Program

Ursula's Certification Program has taught me far more than 'just' the technical skills of cranial work. She is an amazing teacher who approaches this modality with heart and a passion that is absolutely infectious. Ursula also has the exceptional talent to create a space that truly feels safe for everybody involved; it is the perfect place to build a sense of community and an acceptance of what is, whether it be in cranial work or in one's own personal soul journey. I am deeply grateful for this and very happy to have been part of her program. ~ NB

Certification in Cranio-Sacral therapy gives you added credibility with your clients and allows you to offer this work with increased confidence. It will also allow you to work with students that come into the training after you. With your permission, NHRC will put you on their referral list on its website.

The Certification Program is expressly designed for students who want to dedicate themselves to mastering Cranio-Sacral therapy. It offers a highly focused, in-depth training with the support, exploration, supervision, and feedback necessary for you to develop a full Cranio-Sacral practice with competence and confidence. This program is based on the theories and techniques developed by William Sutherland and is also influenced by the work of John Upledger, Hugh Milne, and the biodynamic approaches to Cranio-Sacral work. The Core Series is the backbone of Cranio-Sacral knowledge and application. The addtional Advanced Bodywork classes provide the meat on the bone, as they enable the students to expand their intuition, personal depth, and their trust in their healing abilities.

The Certification Program will move you beyond the limitations of technical, fix-it approaches and prepare you to listen to the soul of your client, touch the mystery of their being, and accompany them through their discomfort, pain, and pathologies toward genuine healing.

The Program is made up of the Introductory Workshop, 4 core Advanced level classes (the Core Series), 3 additional Advanced Bodywork classes, integration sessions, and extracurricular work. The length of study and design of the curriculum is intended to give you the time and support necessary to master this work.

This program is enhanced by:

  • local support
  • a community of students
  • small classes, and
  • the opportunity to tailor your education by choosing from six additional Advanced Bodywork classes

I want to let you know that almost every day I remark to myself how my two years training with you has benefited me as a practitioner. I see my work differently, I see myself differently, my motivation to continue in the healing arts field is strong and my own health, emotionally and physically, has never been better. I am deeply grateful to you as a teacher, practitioner and supporter. ~ AD, Seattle

Course Requirements

Students in the Certification Program must complete the following courses:

  • Cranio-Sacral Introductory Workshop - 28 hours

This course provides the foundation for the rest of the coursework in the Certification Program and is a pre-requisite for entrance into the Core I-IV series and the additional Advanced Bodywork classes. The Introduction to Cranio-Sacral course introduces the student to the fundamental anatomy and physiology of the Cranio-Sacral system, the basic hands-on techniques, and sensitivity necessary to do this work.

  • Core Series* - 158 hours

Once you have taken an Introductory Workshop, you are eligible to register for these 4, 4-day core required courses. These 4 Advanced Level Classes are sequential and must be taken in order. The material in these four classes are the cornerstone of Cranio-Sacral work and provide all the hands-on techniques, anatomy, and physiology related to the cranial system.

    * Students enrolled in the Core Series also complete least 5 Integration Days - 30 hours.

  • Additional Advanced Bodywork Classes* - 84 hours

Students in the Certification Program must complete three 4-day elective classes. Students are eligible to take any Advanced Bodywork classes upon completion of the Introductory Workshop. These courses are not cumulative and may be taken in any order.

    * Students do NOT NEED to be enrolled in the Certification Program to take the Core Series or additional Advanced Bodywork classes.

Extracurricular Requirements

Extracurricular work is an important part of your learning in this program, as it deepens and expands your understanding and confidence. The following is a list of the necessary work you will do outside of the classroom:
