Joining Ursula for a session, you walk into a world that is quiet and beautiful, infused with gentle compassion. Ursula herself is a profoundly intuitive healer, who listens deeply and actively but also knows when to offer a suggestion or provide a treatment. You find yourself speaking, maybe words that you had never expected to say, and in her presence and through following her suggestions, you are able to view the world in a new way. And to be a new way in the world. Thank you, Ursula, for your wise and loving guidance. ~ Client
The entrance to Ursula’s office takes you through a wonderful, calming Zen garden that she created for her clients. This is also a waiting area, should you be early for your appointment. There is a small entry area for you to take off your coat and your shoes before Ursula invites you into her treatment space. Before your first session begins, Ursula will have you complete a one-page information sheet.
During your first session Ursula will invite you to sit down in comfortable chairs while she listens to you explain your history, your experience of your discomfort, and your goals. Ursula will be fully present with you, trying to understand you and the different aspects of your situation. She will look at your goals, for both the first session, and for the long term. In follow-up sessions you will revisit how you have changed since the previous last session and what your situation is like now.

Benefits to paying out-of-pocket: Below are some of the key reasons Ursula prefers to work directly with her clients, and is not an insurance provider:
During the Session
Your session will be based on your individual and unique needs. Ursula will receive you as a multi-dimensional whole person addressing your presenting issue, be it emotional, physical or spiritual while looking for issues that are related.
Your session may exclusively involve counseling, include bodywork, or primarily focus on bodywork. This will also vary from session to session.
Sometimes the initial conversation will provide the healing you are seeking, and can take up the whole session. However, often it is through counseling that the presenting issue is framed and through bodywork that it is worked through. This allows any memories or experiences that are stored in the cells of the body to be released and for long-lasting healing to begin. For example, after having framed and understood your story, and the goals you have, Ursula will have you move to the massage table. You will remain fully clothed, and made as comfortable as necessary. As your nervous system recognizes the safety of the space it is in, it will begin to let go of its usual tension. This allows you to move into a deeply relaxed space within, in which deep wisdom can come forth. Both of you will be listening to this wisdom, whether it comes in images, in words, color or other forms. Through deeply “listening” to your body—its tension, subtle movements and its expression of health and dis-ease—Ursula will be guided in her work with you by your body's “inherent treatment plan.” Unique to this approach is the reliance on the body’s innate wisdom as opposed to a pre-determined, impersonal protocol.
After Your Session
It is important to consider taking time to allow your body, mind, and spirit to integrate any work you receive. You may want to prepare by scheduling some time for yourself, to write about your insights, to cherish the new freedom and flexibility in your body, or to reconnect to nature.
Future sessions have a similar structure as the initial session responding to on-going issues or responding to new arising concerns using to counseling and/or bodywork. Sessions are 75 minutes in duration.
